The creation laboratory that the new media artist Néstor Lizalde and the dance company Led Silhouette have developed in Etopia, is based on the confluence of these two disciplines around concepts related to fundamental particle physics. An investigation into the quantum universe to seek new ways of understanding time, space, light and matter, bringing the processes of strong nuclear interaction between fermions and bosons into artistic practice. Concepts such as matter-antimatter, particle-wave or matter-energy duality, together with Richard Feynman’s famous diagrams, open up new choreographic and visual possibilities, bringing together body and machine, to approach in a non-logical way these abstract concepts that the human brain can barely conceive. The project relates the randomness that characterises quantum mechanics with the Confucian oracular book of the iChing and the elements of nature. All with the aim of creating an ephemeral event between architecture, body, light and technology.
