The creative lab developed by new media artist Néstor Lizalde and the dance company Led Silhouette at Etopia emerges from the convergence of these two disciplines around concepts related to fundamental particle physics.
This project delves into the quantum universe in search of new ways to understand time, space, light, and matter—bringing into artistic practice the processes of strong nuclear interaction between fermions and bosons. Concepts such as matter-antimatter duality, wave-particle duality, or matter-energy equivalence, along with Richard Feynman’s famous diagrams, open up new choreographic and visual possibilities. The piece merges body and machine to approach these abstract notions in a non-logical, sensory way—touching on ideas that the human brain can scarcely grasp.
The project connects the randomness of quantum mechanics with the oracle structure of the I Ching and the elemental forces of nature. Its ultimate goal is to create an ephemeral encounter between architecture, body, light, and technology.
